Please join us in welcoming Tracey Braymiller, Registrar and Volunteer Coordinator, to the mountain.
South Mountain YMCA Camps is pleased to announce that Tracey Braymiller has been named Registrar and Volunteer Service Coordinator. Before coming to South Mountain, Tracey served in the United States Coast Guard, she retired as a Chief Warrant Officer (CWO3) after serving for 30 years. In her new role, Tracey will be the primary point of contact for our organization. She will handle registrations for day camp, overnight camp and the outdoor center as well as be responsible for the camp store’s inventory, ordering and sales. Additionally, Tracey will handle the screening, in-take and placement of volunteers for the organization.
Tracey had a very unique Coast Guard career, while her background is in Human Resources however, this wasn’t always her assignment. She was stationed at numerous places throughout her career starting with Coast Guard Group/Air Station Cape May, NJ where she worked at the Boat Maintenance Facility and Search and Rescue Detachment (SARDET) Townsends Inlet, Coast Guard Pay and Personnel Center Topeka, KS, where she worked as a pay auditor, Coast Guard Headquarters Washington, DC working as a Security Specialist, Coast Guard Integrated Support Command, Portsmouth, VA where she joined the Work Life Staff and found a way to further help her fellow shipmates by becoming a member of the Coast Guard Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team, Command Drug and Alcohol Representative (CDAR), Victim Support Person and Applied Suicide Interventions Skills Training (ASIST) team she continued to use those skills throughout her career.
Her next unit was the Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic, Norfolk, VA where she found herself working in safety and environmental health field, she then was assigned to the USCGC FORWARD (WMEC-911), Portsmouth, VA where she was the ships Yeoman handling payroll, benefits, and other administrative duties. In 2006 while she was stationed on the USCGC FORWARD (WMEC-911) she completed her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, Human Resource Management from Trident University International. Her subsequent tours include; Administrative assistant/Servicing Personnel Unit, at Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, NJ and Housing Officer at Coast Guard New York/Detachment Sandy Hook, Highland, NJ. Tracey finished out her career in the Coast Guard as the Personnel Security Officer for United States Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT.
Tracey is currently working on her MBA in Health Administration, Human Resource Management from Trident University International. After 30 years of being away from home Tracey, her husband Norm and daughter Emily have moved back to Pennsylvania so that they could be close to family.
